We are pleased to introduce Dr. Ali R. Elshereif, an associate professor in the Horticulture Department at Kafrelsheikh University and project coordinator for MOBILISE at the university. Dr. Elshereif brings a passion for research, teaching, and community service, making him a valuable asset to the team.
In his professional work, Dr. Elshereif focuses on several key areas: abiotic stress, plant nutrition and flowering management, and bio-fertilizers as sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers. Beyond research, he is dedicated to capacity building, offering training and consultancy services to early-career researchers, students, and fruit tree growers to enhance their practical skills and knowledge.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Elshereif enjoys engaging in community service within his neighborhood, watching news and documentaries on international topics, and spending quality time with his family.
Reflecting on his involvement in the MOBILISE project, Dr. Elshereif describes it as an excellent opportunity for students from both Kafrelsheikh and partner countries to gain practical skills, experience new cultures, and grow in independence. He acknowledges the efforts made by all partners during the project's first round, noting that while continuous improvement is always needed, the collaboration between Kafrelsheikh, Maastricht, and Aeres Universities has been commendable.
To the trainees currently participating in the program, Dr. Elshereif offers the following advice:
"You were fortunate to be part of this project. Use the knowledge and skills gained during both the pre-departure and mobility phases to sharpen your future career plans. I wish you all the best."
He also highlights the value of institutional collaboration projects like MOBILISE, which play a crucial role in enhancing education, research, and capacity-building efforts across institutions and countries.
Thank you, Dr. Ali Elshereif, for your dedication and contributions to the MOBILISE project!
