From Wednesday, September 25th to Friday, September 27th, all MOBILISE trainees in the Netherlands gathered at Boerderij Hoekelum, Bennekom, for the closing workshop of the first mobility program. This event marked the conclusion of their training journey before returning to their home countries. Over these three days, participants shared their experiences, reflected on their achievements, and celebrated what many described as a “life-changing experience.”
On Wednesday morning, trainees travelled from different parts of the Netherlands, showcasing their ability to navigate the country's public transportation system with ease. In the afternoon, the workshop began with an icebreaker activity, where participants created a collective mood board and shared their feelings about the program. This was followed by a presentation from the MSM project’s Director and Manager, who outlined the return program. This initiative, currently being developed in each country, aims to support trainees' transitions into the labor market upon their return.
Thursday saw a more intensive agenda. Trainees took part in an outbound test to assess their technical knowledge, participated in a coaching session to review their final assignments from September, and completed a satisfaction survey to provide feedback on their overall experience. The day ended with a group evaluation, where trainees discussed their most significant learning points, challenges faced, and suggestions for improving the program for future batches.
Many trainees expressed positive sentiments about the program, citing personal growth in areas such as adaptability, working in international teams, and assertiveness. They noted how the experience helped them better understand the decision-making processes within business operations. Despite the rewarding nature of the program, they acknowledged the challenges of balancing work, study assignments, independent living, and exploring a new country.
The workshop concluded with a vibrant international dinner and festive event, organized by the trainees themselves. The evening was filled with music, dancing, games, and cultural exchanges, creating a joyful and memorable end to this international experience.
On Friday, September 27th, the trainees bid each other heartfelt goodbyes before heading to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport for their return flights. With their suitcases packed full of memories, knowledge, and souvenirs, they left with high hopes for their future careers. The MOBILISE team looks forward to reconnecting with the trainees in their home countries, supporting them as they take their first steps into the professional world.
