In June 2025, Stefano Locatelli, Project Manager of MOBILISE, carried out in-country missions to Tunisia and Egypt to finalize preparations for the second mobility intake of the program. The visits focused on strengthening cooperation with partner universities and directly engaging with the departing trainees to ensure they are fully prepared for their upcoming experience in the Netherlands.
In Tunisia, Locatelli met with staff and students at ISACM (Chott-Mériem) and LSFPAAV (Bouchrik). Discussions with academic coordinators centered on lessons learned from the first mobility cycle and how to further improve the pre-departure training. Meetings with the 15 Tunisian trainees offered an opportunity to discuss the rules and expectations of the Dutch traineeship program, while also addressing practical questions about work conditions, cultural differences, and life in the Netherlands. The students demonstrated high motivation and a strong commitment to making the most of the program.
In Egypt, Locatelli visited Kafrelsheik University (KFS) and Heliopolis University (HU), where he met with faculty leadership, local coordinators, and the 19 Egyptian trainees. The meetings focused on reviewing the pre-departure training modules, explaining the matching process with host companies, and providing guidance on adapting to a professional environment abroad. Students appreciated the chance to receive first-hand advice and clarify their expectations.
These missions reinforced the partnership with local universities and ensured that both staff and trainees are well-prepared for the mobility phase starting at the end of June.
