Start of the Entrepeneurship training at Hawassa University as part of the return support program

The Entrepreneurship Training Program for MOBILISE trainees returning from the Netherlands has officially begun! Designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to transform their innovative ideas into viable businesses, this program marks a major milestone in the MOBILISE project. Before launching the training, a Training of Trainers (ToT) session was held from September 27-29, 2024, at Hawassa University, led by Alemfrie Derese Chekole, an MSM expert. Ten participants from the university’s incubation center attended, gaining insights into the MOBILISE project, design thinking methodologies, and their roles as mentors. This preparation ensures that trainers are ready to guide students effectively through their entrepreneurial journey.

Starting in November 2024, the program ran through December at Hawassa University, engaging returning MOBILISE students eager to develop their business ideas. Through ten structured modules, participants are currently exploring key aspects of entrepreneurship, including idea generation, market validation, prototyping, and business model development. The training culminates in a pitching competition, where students will be presenting their business ideas to a panel of judges. The top projects will receive seed funding, providing an opportunity to bring their ventures to life while receiving valuable feedback and support from industry experts. The Entrepreneurship Training Program is a crucial step in fostering innovation and economic growth within the MOBILISE community.

We are excited to witness the progress of both trainers and students as they embark on this journey.
