As part of the MOBILISE Return Program, a Career Information, Advice, and Guidance (CIAG) training took place from December 9 to 11, 2024, at ISACM in Chott Meriem, Tunisia. This training was designed to support MOBILISE trainees returning from the Netherlands by equipping them with essential career development skills. Led by Hermina Kooijman from Maastricht School of Management (MSM) in collaboration with ISACM and Agence de Vulgarisation et de Formation Agricoles (AVFA), the training focused on practical tools to enhance students' employability in climate-smart agriculture. The 3-day session welcomed nine participants, all eager to gain insights into personal branding, networking, and job market strategies.
Through an interactive approach, students explored key areas such as CV writing, motivation letter drafting, and job interview techniques. The first day introduced personal development strategies, helping participants identify strengths and areas for growth. The second day delved into crafting effective CVs and motivation letters, while also guiding students in building their personal brands through networking and elevator pitches. The final session covered job searching strategies and interview preparation, ensuring students left with a comprehensive toolkit for their career journeys. The hands-on activities and role-playing exercises were particularly well-received, allowing participants to apply their learning in real-time scenarios.
Following the training, students will continue receiving guidance from ISACM and AVFA career centers, where they can refine their applications and connect with potential employers. The MOBILISE project remains committed to fostering strong career pathways by bridging the gap between students and the private sector in climate-smart agriculture. With the enthusiasm and dedication displayed throughout the training, these young professionals are well-prepared to take the next step in their careers. We look forward to seeing them thrive as they apply their newfound knowledge and skills in the job market.
