Sixth meeting of Tunisian Advisory Group - May 2026

On 13 May 2026, the Tunisian Advisory Group of the MOBILISE project held its sixth meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Conference Center in Tunis. The meeting brought together representatives from higher education, government institutions, the private sector, international organisations, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to review the project's progress and reflect on possible mobility pathways beyond the current student mobility model.

The meeting opened with an update on project implementation, including preparations for the third mobility cohort, in which nine Tunisian and twenty-four Egyptian students will undertake traineeships in the Netherlands during the summer of 2026. Participants also looked back at the second cohort, discussing the entrepreneurship support programme for returning participants and the business pitch competition that helped alumni further develop their business ideas.

Much of the discussion centred on the proposed fourth mobility cohort, which would broaden MOBILISE by targeting new participant groups. Two possible pathways were considered: one for recent university graduates and another for employees of Tunisian horticultural companies. Participants exchanged views on different implementation models, recruitment approaches, legal considerations, and the respective roles that universities, employers, business support organisations, and public institutions could play.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further develop the proposed mobility models in the coming months. The Advisory Group's recommendations will help shape the next phase of MOBILISE, with the aim of creating sustainable international mobility opportunities that better respond to the needs of graduates, employers, and the Tunisian horticultural sector.
